The ruling TRS party senior leader and former MP, Ms Kalavakuntla Kavitha took the oath as Member of Legislative Council, Telangana state.
Another member K Damodar Reddy also took the oath. Protem chairman Syed Aminul Hasan Jaffri administered the oath to the newly elected members on Wednesday.
Ms Kavitha who was elected as MLC in the local body category from Nizamabad district thanked chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for giving her an opportunity to serve the people. She also thanked the elected members of local bodies for electing her unanimously reposing faith in her. Scores of ministers, MLAs, and other ruling party leaders who were present at the ceremony congratulated Ms Kavitha.
