After the initial haziness, the picture is getting clearer in Telangana. TRS has succeeded in taking a clear lead over other parties.
KCR did a good job of taking TRS manifesto into the public with his well-planned and organized whirlwind tour of Telangana. His development plank sounded very positive for people who are tired with the long struggle for statehood. With TRS’ plans, he evoked hope among the public that we can now move out of the 5 year stagnation.
All this while the Congress is sounding like a whining kid just complaining and attacking KCR. Congress is unmindful of what people are expecting for future or concerned at the moment with, like the controversial aspects of AP Reorg. Bill. It ducked all questions, just like BJP, with regard to the Telangana bill. Worse, it can’t even manage campaign and meetings without infighting. Congress high command is paying for decades of suppression of Telangana leadership. For a party that boasts of such long history, there is not a single leader with pan-Telangana appeal. Right now, Telangana Congress looks like a group of outshouting students in a school classroom with no teacher around.
The BJP didn’t even take off with their campaign in Telangana, thanks to all round confusion about it’s alliance with TDP. With BJP high command sidelining leadership of Telangana unit leaders in the tie-up decision and in the subsequent campaign meetings, instead trusting Chandrababu Naidu and Pavan Kalyan, people lost faith in it. Both TDP and BJP would be lucky if they manage to get into double digit figures together in the Telangana assembly.
It can’t get clearer than this for Telangana this election season. TRS once again showed it’s the only party that matters in Telangana. Each and everyone of you, in Telangana, vote TRS for stability and development. Let us hope TRS shows the same commitment it is now showing, in reaching out to people, even in it’s rule which now looks immediate and inevitable.
Let us hope for the best.
