Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao on Tuesday demanded that Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao convince TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to write a letter to the Centre on Telangana state formation.
Talking to media persons, Harish Rao advised Dayakar Rao to directly ask Naidu to make a public statement that he would write a letter to the Centre making his party’s stand clear on the statehood issue after the completion of by-elections process. He said Dayakar Rao himself should restrain from making statements on behalf of Naidu.
Harish Rao said that Dayakar Rao’s statements were aimed at getting mileage in the ensuing by-elections and to cheat the people of region. However, he said that the people of region would not believe TDP and teach a fitting lesson to it in the ensuing by-elections.
Accusing the Congress and TDP of cheating the people of Telangana region since many decades, Harish Rao said that the political parties have lost confidence of people in the region.
Stating that no differences exist between the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Harish Rao said that some vested elements were floating such stories to get mileage on the issue. He also refuted reports that discussion took place over finding a replacement for TPJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram. He said that TPJAC and TRS have been working in a coordinated manner to take the statehood agitation forward. (INN)
