TPCC’s internal bickerings came to the fore yet again

A fish market seemed better than the Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress party state headquarters at Hyderabad on Thursday. Scores of party leaders, their followers and cadre filled the corridors raising slogans and shouting at each other.

Veteran leader Digvijay Singh who was specially deputed to Telangana to sort out the differences among warring leaders had embarrassing moments. He seemed vexed with the adamant attitude and unruly behaviour of the party leaders. He was supposed to leave for New Delhi on Thursday evening but postponed it to Friday as he could not complete the task.

From morning, Senior leaders who are opposing TPCC president A Revanth Reddy closeted with Digvijay Singh one by one and it went up till late in the evening as the leaders kept thronging the party office. The seniors complained that they were being ignored and Revanth Reddy was acting unilaterally.

They also reportedly wanted party state observer Manickam Tagore to be replaced as he was responsible for the gap between the Telangana senior leaders and the party’s high command.

Revanth Reddy’s faction justified their functioning stating that they were also seniors and were working sincerely for the party. Mr Digvijay Singh is likely to brief the media about the developments and whether he succeeded in his mission before leaving for New Delhi.
