TJAC warns of another Sadak Bandh

Condemning the arrests of the Telangana leaders during Sadak Bandh here on Thursday, the TJAC has warned the state government that this type of oppressive measures to curb the Telangana movement would only invite rebellion from the people of the region.

The leaders of the TJAC held an emergency meeting on Thursday night following the Alampur court’s remand to TJAC convener Prof M Kodandaram and TRS MLAs E Rajender and J Krishna Rao and four others till April 4 for taking part in road blockade.

The meeting held under the leadership of G Devi Prasad has resolved that another Sadak Bandh would soon be held on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway to protest against the state government’s oppressive measures against the Telangana leaders. The TJAC has decided to hold the proposed ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme in an extensive manner so as to make it a grand success.

The dates of these two programmes will be announced soon. Earlier, Kodandaram and others were arrested for taking part in the road block by squatting on the national highway.

Angered over the arrests, the TRS has decided to stage protests across the region on Friday.
