TITA welcomes new industrial policy

The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) is rejoicing the launch of Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification (TS-iPASS) system which focuses on time-bound approvals for setting up projects in Telangana state. TITA -Corporate Wing, which consists of 46 registered IT firms from Telangana State and at their monthly meeting which was held on June 16, 2015, keenly discussed the repealed Industrial Policy TS-iPASS.

  • Ensuring approvals to all the mega, large, medium, and small projects within 15 days from the date of application is a game-changer
  • With the new policy, IT Minister K T Rama Rao’s aim to double the IT exports in the coming 5 years looks achievable

“The new policy, which focuses on minimum inspection and maximum facilitation for the industry, is a welcome step. As per the policy norms, even the Mega Industrial Projects, with an investment Rs 200 crore or 1000 employees, would get clearance within 15 days. At the heart of the policy is TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-certification System) that calls for penal action against officials for delaying the process of applications.

Government is going to penalize officials to tune of Rs 1,000 per day for delays. This is the major point where IT Major Companies will be interested to look into our Telangana State. Already we know that, major IT Companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon etc, are planning for biggest campuses in Hyderabad. Likewise, even many other IT Companies are going to invest in Telangana State. Telangana State IT Exports in the year 2014-15 are pegged around 66,000 crores.

With TS-iPASS, IT Minister Mr. K T Rama Rao’s aim to double the IT exports in the coming 5 years looks achievable,” said TITA Founder & President Sundeep Kumar Makthala. “Telangana industrial policy framework is providing a new direction to the government to attract investments to the state. The Policy was designed for the benefit of business leaders and ensuring approvals to all the mega, large, medium, and small projects within 15 days from the date of application is a game-changer.

Since the government has created a land bank of 1.5 lakh acres which can be used for industrial purpose and transferred it to the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, the members of TITA Corporate wing are delighted and started to explore their projections.” Said TITA Corporate-wing Chair Vishnu Murthy Kalagony. “We shared the Moments of Happiness for the best norms available for business leaders. In this month, as per the productive rate, around 14 IT firms registered with TITA– Corporate Wing.

After the TS Formation Day Celebrations, the new industrial policy with quick approval mechanism was like a boon to business leaders from Telangana Government. Undoubtedly, Telangana will achieve number one position worldwide in business exports, in near future,” said TITA Corporate-wing Vice Chair Naresh Ragi.

TITA Corporate wing members Vishnu Murthy Kalagony CEO-Visu Technologies, Glanso Technologies CEO Naresh Ragi, Prism Technologies CEO Srinivas Goud, MNR Groups Chairman Nagaraj Marayala, Vishwak Lakkireddy from Derron IT, Venkata Vanam from Vividha IT Solutions, SRD Systemes CEO G.Sunil Reddy, Sukra Infotech CEO Praveen, Gnanakar Reddy, Sunil Chenoy and others participated in the meeting.
