The Telangana State Legislature Party (TRSLP) meeting held at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday infused a newfound enthusiasm among the party MLAs and cadre.
TRS party supremo and chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao’s talk helped build confidence among the MLAs. He said all the sitting MLAs would get tickets and they need not worry much about their prospects. At the same time, the party would keep hinting at them about their conduct and performance. If they failed to mend their ways, the party would be helpless in their case.
According to CM KCR, all the surveys indicate a thumping victory of the ruling TRS party in the Telangana Assembley elections. The party is poised to get over 90 seats of the 119.
The MLAs heaved a sigh of relief as there were rumours about replacing some of them going by some surveys. Mr KCR dispelled their doubts.
The chief minister wanted the MLAs to tour their respective constituencies and refrain from coming to Hyderabad frequently. He wanted them to distribute the new pensions and also keep interacting with the party cadre at ground level. The MLAs should organize small group meetings and have lunch with the general public as and when possible.
Mr KCR also told the party men – MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and others present at the meeting that their party is going to win the forthcoming Munugodu Assembly by-election with Congress likely to stand second while the BJP relegated to the third position.
The chief minister also told the party leaders not to worry about the ED, CBI, etc., as they can do nothing in Telangana. The BJP’s efforts to topple the government in New Delhi and Bihar failed. Their tricks do not work in Telangana either, he said.
The MLAs and other leaders were asked to expose the BJP’s agenda of dividing people by talking about caste and religion and spreading false information about TRS party.
