Telangana has immense potential to emerge as a successful state, particularly in strengthening Panchayat Raj institutions, Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao has said.
KTR held a brainstorming session with Panchayat Raj system experts and Panchayat Raj secretary of the Union government Vijayanand here Sunday. Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was fully aware of issues plaguing rural Telangana, KTR said the government had already begun the process of incorporating best practices from several states to improve the Panchayat Raj system in the State.
He explained that the State government had ensured bank linkage to tune of Rs 3,620 crore loans to 4.20 lakh self-help groups, and stated that Telangana was performing better than several other states on the social capital front. He also apprised the delegates of the government’s flagship programme of e-panchayats.
