In a decision that could give a major relief to tribal students, the Telangana government is all set to impart Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (Eamcet) coaching in ST welfare hostels.
This apart, the government is also proposing to facilitate coaching for tribal students to appear for national-level entrance examinations. “For those who are staying in hostels and studying Intermediate, the government will impart Eamcet coaching. As they are not able to get good ranks in Eamcet, they are dropping out of welfare hostels,” ST Development Minister Ajmera Chandulal said at a review meeting of the department here on Thursday.
To ensure that there are no dropouts, the government had decided to extend Eamcet coaching so that the students get admission into engineering, medicine and agricutlural colleges.
It was decided to construct compound walls at all ST girls’ hostels and also instal CCTVs in them.
