After several hours of grilling, the Anti-Corruption Bureau here today arrested Sandra Venkata Veeriah, Telangana TDP MLA in the cash-for-vote scam.
He is the fourth person to be arrested so far in this case. Earlier A Revanth Reddy, Telangana TDP MLA and main accused in the case, and Bishop Harry Sebastian and Rudra Udaysimha were arrested on May 31. They were later released on bail after being in custody for about 30 days.
Sandra Veeriah, who represents Sattupalli constituency, had earlier sought time to be present for questioning by the sleuths of the ACB citing ill-health. The ACB had served a second notice after the time sought by the MLA lapsed.
The bribery scam broke out when Revanth Reddy was arrested while allegedly seeking to bribe Elvis Stephenson, nominated MLA, to garner his support for a TDP candidate during polls to Legislative Council.
