In a bid to take police force closer to citizens, Telangana State Police (TSP) department has begun imparting training to its personnel to develop citizen-friendly and service-oriented behaviour.
TSP has planned a series of training programmes for its personnel to help them develop a positive attitude. As an initial step, a two-day ‘Awareness Programme on Citizen Friendly Policing’ was launched yesterday, an official release said here.
The police department is of the view that friendly interaction with complainants, showing compassion to victims, and treating everyone with courtesy are of key importance.
One of the key objectives set out by TSP is to achieve a citizen-friendly police, for which the programme would focus on enhancing the capacity for empathy and compassion, it said.
Appearance, body language, social grace, attitude, optimism, communication skills, and conflict resolution are some of the aspects to be covered in the training programme, the release said.
Telangana Police are implementing a number of key initiatives for making the state the most secure global destination.
TSP has engaged the services of Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to lead these initiatives.
Director General of Police Anurag Sharma inaugurated the training programme which was attended by 93 inspectors, sub-inspectors, and head constables from different zones of Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
