The highest demand for power of 14,794 MW was recorded on Tuesday in the state as against the 12,966 MW last year in the same period. The power consumption on Tuesday, according to officials was 290 million units.
They point out that demand would further grow to 16,000 MW and consumption likely to be 300 million units. The free power to the agriculture sector, subsidised rates to traditional vocations, uninterrupted quality power supply round the clock, and industry-friendly policy resulted in increased demand for the power.
