Telangana political JAC (T-JAC) Chairman M Kodandaram has said that the people of Telangana have lost confidence in the Congress and TDP on the separate Telangana State isssue.
The bus yatra launched by the JAC to garner people’s support for achieving separate Telangana passed through Gajwel, Siddipet, Dubbaka, Ramayampet and Medak on Thursday.
Addressing meetings at various places, Kodandaram urged the students and the youth not to resort to suicides. Suicides would not bring about change among the leaders of the two parties. The statehood would have been achieved by this time, had if the ministers and MLAs of Congress and TDP had resigned their posts, he said.
The agitations by the JAC would help in weakening the strength of two parties in the region. There is no other option for the Centre except to take a decision in favour of Telangana. Some forces were trying to create differences among the people in the name of religion, community and caste. This was only to divert the attention of the people from the main issue, he said.
Kodandaram alleged that the local MLA instigated violence in Sangareddy town recently. They were not communal clashes, but were encouraged to get a political mileage. Similar forces were trying to create such clashes among the people in Hyderabad and other places.
He said that T-JAC would not support any particular caste or religion. Small and internal issues in JAC would be sorted out after having discussions with all concerned. He demanded that the Government provide compensation to the farmers affected by the recent hailstorm. One day’s salary of the government employees should be contributed for the purpose, he added.
TNGO state general secretary Devi Prasad, former MLA Solipet Ramalinga Reddy, JAC Employees leaders Srinivas Goud, Raghu, Rasamayi Balakishen, Desapathi Srinivas, district JAC leaders Ashok Kumar, Shyam Rao, Srinivas Reddy and former MLA P Devender Reddy joined the yatra. [The HANS India]
