Irked by the non committal attitude of UPA government, the Telangana political JAC has called for a series of protests aimed at paralyzing the region.
A 48 Hour Bandh starting today midnight followed by a protest rallies by students on 7th July. A 48 Hour Rail Roko has been announced on 8th and 9th July.
TJAC has also warned that few MLAs and MPs who did not resign will not be spared.
Speaking at the Aikyatha Deeksha – the fasting program of rebel-TDP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao has warned the central government that there will be severe consequences if a prompt decision is not made on Telangana.
Telangana Praja Front, BJP, Telangana Lawyers JAC, TNGOs, and several employees and peoples organizations have extended support to the bandh. Employees of Road Transport Corporation, Electricity employees and Singareni Collieries have also said they would participate in the bandh.
Cadres of Congress and TDP are also expected to join the bandh and Rail Roko.
