The Municipal Administration minister Mr K T Rama Rao laid the foundation stone and launched various development programmes worth Rs 500 crore in the state capital.
Stating that the government was going ahead with a definite plan to improve the city, he launched road widening works in Qutubullahpur constituency from Bachupalli chowrastha to Bhaurampet village via Mallampet and Shampur villages. The works will be executed by HMDA with an estimate of Rs 138 crore.
Later, he inaugurated Pranavayuvu Urban Forest Park in Gajularamaram built at a cost of Rs 11.38 crore in 450 hectares, and a Sports Theme Park at TSIIC colony in 700 square metres costing RS 2.38 crore. He also inaugurated a multi-purpose function hall at Chinthal built in an extent of 7,476 square meters with Rs 333.65 crore.
Mr Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for the 14 MLD capacity Fox Sagar Sewerage Treatment Plant costing Rs 52.13 crore that includes several allied works.
Speaking on the eve, the minister said a special plan was conceived and being executed with Rs 248 crore to preserve the water tanks in the city from contamination.
Had the centre cooperated by giving 100 acres in the Cantonment area, the state government had undertaken construction of a skyway with an estimate of Rs 5,000 crore, he said.
MLA KP Vivekanand, Mayor Kolan Neela Gopal Reddy, Chairman Sunkari Krishna Veni Krishna Garu, Deputy Mayor Dan Raj Yadav and Vice-Chairman Tudum Padma Rao, ministers A Indrakaran Reddy and Ch Mallareddy, MLCs Surabhi Vanidevi and Shambhipur Raju, GHMC mayor G Vijayalaxmi and others were present.
