Farmers hit the road demanding the resignation of BJP MP D Aravind.

Scores of farmers staged protests in Nizamabad district seeking the resignation of BJP MP D Aravind for failing to keep up his promise of bringing Turmeric Board to the district.

Hundred of farmers staged a rasta-roko in Nandipet mandal and tried to stop Mr Aravind who is on a visit to the district. The farmers said the BJP MP promised that he would ensure setting up of Turmeric Board to help them if he gets elected. He also promised to ensure re-opening of the sugar factor at Muthyampet but failed to do so.

Several of them demanding more maize procurement centres, said the MP failed on all counts and was not up to the expectations of people who elected him to power. “He should tender resignation to his MP post. He only got the government set up spices board office that was in Warangal which is of no help to Turmeric farmers in the district.
