In a big relief to the Telangana electricity organisations outsourcing employees, division bench of Hyderabad High Court dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) and a writ petition challenging the proceedings of the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Ltd, Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd, and Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd, in absorbing more than 23,000 workers employed on outsourcing basis.
The electricity unions, following the High Court’s dismissal of a petition against regularisation, said it was the Chief Minister who thought that artisans should be able to lead a better life without insecurities related to their employment.
Telangana Electricity Employees’ 1104 Union thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his decision to regularise the services of 23,000 outsourced workers in power utilities who are currently designated as artisans.
The union expressed happiness at the High Court dismissing the petition filed against the regularisation and congratulated all the outsourced workers of the power utilities.
