Uttar Pradesh Minister praises Telangana agriculture schemes

A team of a delegation headed by Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Sahi visited Telangana for an interactive meeting with the officials of the Agriculture Department of Telangana, on the welfare and development schemes being implemented here.

In the meeting, Minister Surya Pratap Sahi praises the initiatives taken up by Government of Telangana in the agriculture sector. He complimented Telangana Government for its Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes which were introduced for the welfare of the farming community, he also highlighted the welfare measures being implemented in Uttar Pradesh including up to ₹one lakh farm loan waiver to small and marginal farmers, implementation of support price scheme and others.

The visiting team enquired about the initiatives of Telangana government in the agriculture sector. The two parties came to an understanding that there were several areas in which the two States could cooperate for mutual benefit.

Chairman of Telangana State Seed Development Corporation K. Koteshwar Rao, Director of TS Seed and Organic Certification Authority K. Keshavulu, Director of Agricultural Marketing G. Laxmi Bai, scientists from agriculture and horticulture universities attended the meeting.
