
As against the budget estimation of Rs. 42,189 crores through GST for the year, in the last 10 months, a total of Rs. 34,729 crores was collected which is 82.32 percent of the budget estimation. This indicates the economic health of the Telangana state.
In 2018-2019, the 10-month collection was Rs. 24.218 crore. This is 44 percent high compared to the collection five years ago. In the last financial year, the first ten-month collection through Goods and Services Tax (GST) was Rs. 27,348 crores and the present collection is 27 percent more than that.
The state is due to get another Rs. 7,460 crores in the last two months of the financial year. Government officials are of the view that the GST collection would exceed the estimations this time.
