Telangana creates record by receiving 9 new govt medical college approvals in a single year

Great news to the people of Karimnagar District, the government medical college in Karimnagar has received the approval with 100 MBBS seats. With this latest approval, Telangana sets a record with nine new government medical college approvals in a single year.

This year, medical colleges in Asifabad, Kamareddy, Khammam, Vikarabad, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli and Karimnagar have received approvals. A total of 900 new MBBS seats will be added this year in Telangana and aspiring doctors will have unparalleled opportunities to serve people.

Under CM KCR’s leadership, Telangana has grown from 5 to 26 government medical colleges in just 9 years which is again a record of sorts. Telangana government has envisaged to establish a medical college in every district and moving ahead in that direction.

Reacting to the news, Health Minister Harish Rao said, “This milestone boosts healthcare accessibility and medical education. A government medical college in Karimnagar brings specialized services closer, ensuring exceptional healthcare.”
