Telangana government on Wednesday allocated 50 acres of land for women industrial park near Hyderabad, claiming it the country’s first such park for women entrepreneurs.
Addressing women entrepreneurs of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) on the eve of International Women’s Day, the Telangana industries minister KT. Rama Rao handed over land allotment papers to FLO’s Hyderabad chapter chairperson Padma Rajgopal.
The land is located at Sultanpur near Patancheru on the outskirts of Hyderabad to be developed as women’s industrial park with infrastructure facilities including roads, power, water and drainage by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC). The corporation would allot the developed industrial plots to individual FLO members.
The FLO local chapter chairperson Padma Rajgopal urged the authorities to help them with required approvals from various central and state agencies and extend to women entrepreneurs all the subsidies and benefits applicable to SC, ST and women.
The minister has on the spot extended consent for the request of FLO representatives seeking benefits like investment subsidy of 25% on fixed capital with a maximum cap of Rs. 30 lakh to all units and 50% subsidy on expenses incurred for ISO and other quality certifications.
Further, the minister Rao has also approved the request of women entrepreneurs for allocating five acres of land on lease to develop, build and operate a centre of excellence for skill development for women from weaker and underprivileged sections of the society.
