Telangana Assembly session till October 10

The Telangana government has agreed to discuss the issue of farmers’ suicides in the House in the Monsoon Session.

The Session, which began here on Wednesday, will run till October 10. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) has met this morning to discuss the business for the current session.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has agreed to the Opposition demand to discuss the crisis in the farm sector on September 29, when the House resumes after adjournment. The other issues that would come up for discussion would be irrigation, power position and welfare programmes.

Earlier in the day, the House paid tributes to former President APJ Abdul Kalam and Narayankhed MLA Kista Reddy. The Chief Minister moved the resolution paying tributes to Kalam and informed the House that he had written to the Centre, asking it to name the DRDO after the former President remembering his services.

He and opposition leaders recounted contributions made by Kalam in the fields of defence and technology. After paying tributes, the House was adjourned to Tuesday (September 29).
