‘Bathukamma and Dasara Samburalu – 2015’ hosted by TDF-LA in Los Angeles on Oct 17th Saturday evening. It wouldn’t have been possible without your active participation, bringing colorful Bathukammas, performing awesome Bathukamma Aata, entertaining the crowd with kolatam dances, participating in Jammi Puja and all other segments of the event as well.
This event was a Mega Success with about 800 people from all five of Los Angeles nearby counties joined for the first time in the history of Los Angeles Bathukamma events celebrated so far.
People brought colorful bathukammas arranged in traditional styles using rare to get native flowers like Thangedu, Banthi, Malle, Chamanthi, Gummadi, Ganneru, Mandaram etc. It was a very festive, colorful and joyful evening whereas all the women and children had great time and fun at the event joyously playing bathukamma Aata and dancing to the Bathukamma tunes/songs non-stop for a very long time. Men too had a great time enjoying the colorful evening.
Bathukamma/Kolatam show- case choreographed performances were major attractions at the event. After Bathukamma nimajjanam , ‘Jammi’ pooja was performed with ‘real’shami tree (Jammi chettu), which is a special attraction at the event, and also a very rare attraction to have in any of Bathukamma/Dasara celebrations across North America.
Once again, TDF-LA thank you all the participants and also take this opportunity to thank its committee members, volunteers and Vanitha (women) team who worked hard for making this grand scale event a Mega Success.
Special thanks to our TDF-LA grand sponsors, sponsors and co-host ATA for their generous support in conducting such a grand scale event. We are also thankful to our other Telugu community organizations like TASC, LATA, NATS, TTS and LA Telugu for extending their support for publicity and joining us at the event.
