The TRS government had come up with two schemes to help the aspiring entrepreneurs start their own businesses – T-Idea and T-Pride which were a hit among unemployed youth said IT minister Mr K T Rama Rao.
Since the formation of a separate Telangana state, a total of 67,000 candidates received a subsidy to the tune of Rs 4,800 crore.
The plan of the government is to develop the private industrial sector with a view to providing more employment. The Telangana State Industrial Development and Entrepreneur Advancement (T-IDEA) is meant for candidates in the general category while the Telangana Programme for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs (T-PRIDE) is meant for SC, ST, and PHC (Physically Handicapped) candidates.
The subsidy is being extended transparently by receiving applications online and 35 to 40 percent of applicants are getting the subsidy by way of incentives such as subsidy on land cost, stamp duty, SGST, power cost, and loan at a low rate of interest, Mr Rama Rao explained.
Since June 2, 2014 a total of 67,024 units were set up with a subsidy estimated at Rs 4,797 crore.
“It is the idea of the TRS government to help the unemployed youth stand on their own and live with self-respect. They can start their own units in villages and small towns and also provide employment to others with the help of these schemes,” Mr Rama Rao said.
