Expressing their gratitude to UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for taking the decision to carve out Telangana State, the Telangana Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, Ministers Jana Reddy and DK Aruna, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Uttamkumar Reddy, Sunita Lakshma Reddy and Sridhar Babu, and several MPs, MLAs and MLCs addressed a mammoth gathering at Teru Maidanam here on Tuesday.
Damodara Rajanarasimha said that the true colours of Seemandhra leaders had come out after the Union Cabinet had decided to form a separate state of Telangana. He said that the Seemandhra leaders, who launched the Jai Andhra agitation in 1972, were now chanting for a united Andhra Pradesh for reasons best known to them. “Telangana people should understand the evil designs of Seemandhra leaders and be on guard,” he cautioned.
