Union Minister of State for Social Justice P Balram Naik on Thursday claimed that the Telangana Bill would be tabled in Parliament by December 7.
Talking to reporters here, Balram Naik said that the roadmap for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana State would be finalised on November 7 during the next meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana in the national capital. He hoped that the Telangana Bill would be tabled in Parliament during the monsoon session by December 7.
It may be mentioned that so far, the GoM on Telangana met twice on October 11 and 19th and held discussions on various issues including sharing of resources like water and energy between Telangana and Seemandhra regions. The GoM had also sought department-wise detailed reports on bifurcation.
The GoM was constituted following decision by the Union Cabinet on October 3 to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to form Telangana State.
