Severe heatwave, Telangana government on alert.

 

The Kherimeri in Adilabad recorded the highest temperature of 43.9 degrees celsius and Cheprala 23.8 was recorded. In Bhupalpally district a temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius was recorded.

The Meteorological department has warned people that the temperature will rise by three to four degrees from Thursday. And also there would be hailstorms on Friday and Saturday across the Telangana state. It is likely to rain with hail storms in the districts of Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmla, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, and Karimnagar – the north Telangana.

The department also warned that the temperatures might go up to 46 degrees Celsius this year due to depression over Telangana and there would be heavy gales. Next, there would be rain all over, it added.

As temperatures were rising severely, people were warned to stay indoors and protect themselves.

The situation in March and April could be worse going by the development and the sun could be more brutal than now.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Meteorological department has said the temperature would go up by four to five degrees more than the existing temperature.

It is said in Bandlaguda of Kukatpally, a temperature of 40 degrees was recorded while in Maruthinagar, Manikonda registered 39.8 degrees celsius, Miyapur 39.7, Seethaphalmandi and Patigada 39.7 degrees.

The Met department has said the summer would be very intense in April’s first week and warned people not to venture out of their houses unless needed.

The chief Secretary Mr Somesh Kumar held a special meeting with the district collectors on the issue and instructed them to take the necessary steps. He wanted all medicines to be made available at all hospitals and to keep ready the 108 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the education department has decided to conduct schools from 8 am to 11.30 am in view of rising in temperature in the next few days.
