Henchmen of Vallabhaneni Vamshi – TDP leader from Vijayawada, attacked and injured villagers of Kollur in Medak district. Three villagers – Bhupal Reddy, Narsimhulu and Mallaiah were severely injured in this attack.

The incident happened when the villagers were repairing the katcha road between Kollur and Eedulanagulapally. Vamshi, along with his henchmen objected to the repair works and claimed that the road is their private property. Vamshi, and his gunmen thrashed the villagers indiscriminately.

On coming to know about this incident, hundreds of villagers from Kollur and Eedulanagulapalli reached the scene of incident, but by that time Vamshi and his goondas have escaped.

While the road was located in Survey Number 353 and 354, Vamshi’s lands are located at a distance and belong to Survey number 134 and 135. Villagers said that Vallbhaneni Vamshi bought large tracts of land in the vicinity of the village.

A case has been registered on Vallabhaneni Vamshi and his goondas in Ramachandrapuram police station

This is not the first time that influential politicians and film stars have entered into altercations with local villagers in Telangana region. Such behavior only confirms the illegal nature of the land grab that several influential Seemandhrites have resorted to in and around Hyderabad city.
