Seemandhra RTC staff call-off strike

Seemandhra employees of the APSRTC called off their strike nearly two months after they started it.

The discussions between Seemandhra APSRTC employees unions and AP state govt concluded yesterday late night.

Buses started plying immediately in 13 districts of Seemandhra.

State government assured the striking employees that a a high-powered panel would be set up to look into the financial troubles of RTC.

Striking employees would be offered salary advances. RTC would also get some rebate in transport taxes.

What is alarming is that the state government has assured the unions that it would consider government takeover of the RTC.

Such a takeover would be detrimental to Telangana RTC and beneficial to Seemandhra RTC.
