Ready to take Telangana fight to Delhi: Suravaram

CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy warned that further delaying the Telangana statehood issue will only worsen the situation in the state. He said that the people of Telangana are not fighting for a separate country but are only asking a state. Suravaram was speaking at a public meeting organized to mark the conclusion of the week long Telangana Praja Poru Yatra at Warangal.

Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy also said that his party is ready to take the statehood fight to Delhi if needed. He urged the UPA government to initiate steps to Telangana statehood without further delay.

CPI state secretary K Narayana came down heavily on the Congress led UPA government over its failure to initiate the statehood process. He blamed the Congress party’s flip-flop for the suicides of hundreds of Telangana youngsters and demanded that a criminal case be filed on the UPA government.

CPI MLAs Gunda Mallesh, Kunamneni Sambashiva Rao, Ujjini Yadagiri Rao, Chandravathi, TRS MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, TJAC Co-convenor Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, CPI MLCs Jalli Wilson, PJ Chandrasekhar Rao, CPI Ex MLAs Chada Venkat Reddy, Palla Venkat Reddy, Ex-MP Ajeez Pasha, TRS district Convenor Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, CPI leaders Siddhi Venkateshwarlu, K Ramakrishna, Visalandhra Editor K Srinivas Reddy, Mahila Sangham leader Jyothi were among the other leaders who participated in this meeting.
