Punjab to replicate Telangana’s Dalit Bandhu scheme

The Dalit Bandhu launched by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is getting attention from far and wide. On Saturday, a group of officials from the Punjab state government led by Minister Baljeet Kaur visited the Vasalamarri village in Turkapalli Mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.

She went around the grounded units of beneficiaries under Dalit Bandhu. During her interaction, they said they were able to earn Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 per month. Their economic status is much better after getting benefits under Dalit Bandhu. She said the scheme that was aimed at empowering dalit socially and economically would be introduced in Punjab state too.

Dr Baljeet Kaur was accompanied by officials Ramesh Kumar, Jaspreet Singh and Jagadish Sharma and Telangana government officials Asish Kuthuria and Kishan.
