Protests across Telangana against YSRCP goondagiri

Protests rocked the 10 districts of Telangana region against the goondagiri of YSRCP and state police. Students came on the streets in large numbers and burnt effigies of YS Vijaya and CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Educational institutions remained closed in all 10 Telangana districts.

The people of Karimnagar district observed a bandh in protest against the attacks on Telangana activists by police and YSRCP goondas.

TRS student wing TRSV conducted rastarokos in all districts of Telangana. JAC and TNGO leaders participated in these protests in big numbers. JAC leaders demanded immediate suspension of the police officers who were responsible for indiscriminate lathicharge and teargas firing on Telangana activists. In Singareni Colleries, the miners attended the duty wearing black badges.

TRS Warangal district convener Peddi Sudarshan Reddy said that the police raid on the building was nothing but an attack on Telangana people and their self-esteem.

Condemning the lathi-charge on TRS activists at Telangana Bhavan by police, members of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) staged a rasta roko on the National Highway-9 at Suryapet in Nalgonda district.

Some unidentified persons burnt the statue of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at Kanagal mandal in Nalgonda district yesterday morning.

In Hyderabad, student leaders demanded the suspension of West Zone DCP Stephen Ravindra, who has ordered the attack on Telangana Bhavan.
