Telangana state has been awarded for outstanding performance in promotion of renewable energy in the past four years. The state has added 809 MU of renewable energy capacity in the sid period.
The Union ministry of new and renewable energy, which recognises the efforts to promote energy security, energy accessibility and sustainability in the country, appreciated Telangana for its achievement at the first Renewable Energy Gloabl Investment and Expo Re-INVEST, held in New Delhi on Sunday.
Telangana energy minister G Jagadish Reddy and secretary (energy) Aravind Kumar received the award from prime minister Narendra Modi, who made a mention of the achievement of Telangana in the sector, an official release said here on Sunday. Mentioning the programmes taken up with the 13th finance commission funds, Modi said, “The newly-formed state has achieved results in improving the power sector,” the release claimed.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his happiness at Modi lauding the achievement of the state.
