In view of incessant rains and floods, the officials of various government agencies were instructed to see that there is no loss of life.
The officials were asked to keep an eye on causeways, culverts, and low-lying bridges which are overflowing due to rains. The rescue and rehabilitation should reach the needy immediately, he said.
Mr K T Rama Rao held a video conference with the officials of police, revenue, and municipal departments on Wednesday from Pragathi Bhavan. It may be noted that Mr Rao is ill due to an injury to his left leg and is confined at home. However, without taking a rest, he is clearing the pending files, oversaw the flood situation in the state, and conducting review meetings.
The officials were asked to keep a vigil on low-lying areas, tanks, and irrigation sources.
Mr Rao asked the people and officials to make use of command control cells. He also held a review of the situation in Hyderabad and surrounding municipalities.
The municipal minister instructed officials to vacate all the old buildings immediately and people should be shifted to temporary rehabilitation centres.
