Opponents of TDP have long been accusing of it being a “Contractors & Businessmen Party” because of the importance civil contractors and big businessmen receive in that party.
The latest move by Chandrababu Naidu to appoint noted contractor CM Ramesh to Rajya Sabha has once again ignited that discussion. The only difference now is that senior leaders in Naidu’s own party are making these allegations.
Several senior members of TDP like Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Arvind Kumar Goud, Mysoor Reddy, Kodela Shivaprasada Rao, Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, KE Krishna murthy, Lal Jan Pasha were openly fuming at Naidu for preferring contractors over sincere partymen.
When these ‘seniors’ cornered Naidu over his choice, apparently the party supremo made it clear that he has to keep even the contractors and businessmen happy as they ‘take care’ of the party needs.
In the earlier round of Rajya Sabha elections, Naidu has appointed Sujana Chowdary – another noted businessman. In fact it is an open secret that the Naidu’s real coterie consists of half-a-dozen contractors and businessmen.
The man who called himself as the CEO of the state sure knows how to run his political party like a business enterprise.
