New Delhi: Senior Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy on Thursday raised the demand for separate Telangana, asserting that unless the separate Statehood demand is conceded, there is no way the multifarious problems of the region could be tackled.

Participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address, Palvai Govardhan Reddy, delivering his maiden speech, said the AP Government was continuously neglecting the irrigation needs of Telangana region.

Political parties like RLD, NCP and BSP were in favour of creation of Telangana.

Acknowledging that Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was engaged in the process of evolving consensus, Reddy cautioned that there can be no unanimity. So, the December 9, 2009, decision should be implemented, he added.
