Protesting the desecration of Ambedkar statues in various parts of the state, pro-Telangana organisations and parties have given a bandh call in the state on Monday. The bandh call was initially given by Osmania University Joint Action Committee which later got the support of other JACs and political parties.
“The government should arrest all those involved in the desecration of Ambedkar statues,’’ OUJAC leader Marri Anil Kumar said.
The OUJAC leaders met TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday and sought his party’s support for the state-wide bandh. A round table was organised on Sunday which was attended by leaders of various organisations and political parties including TRS, BJP, TDP and Left parties.
The leaders have extended their support to the bandh call.
Meanwhile, in a desperate effort to win over the Telangana people and organizations, TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has also extended his support to the OUJAC bandh.
