Osmania and Kakatiya medical universities challenged the Medical Council of India’s biased action in the state High Court. They urged the HC to declare as illegal the action of the MCI in refusing to grant additional seats to their medical colleges for 2012-13.
Telangana leaders and activists have already been agitating since last few weeks over the gross injustice meted out to medical colleges in the Telangana region.
Both OMC and KMC brought to the notice of the high court that they had represented to the MCI for grant of 50 medical seats each to their colleges. But, reports indicate that MCI had refused their request on frivolous grounds.
