Odisha’s Handlooms and Textiles Minister, Rita Sahu, and her team who have toured Telangana for three-days have appreciated Telangana government’s initiatives in handlooms and textiles sector.
As part of the tour from September 27-29 -2022, the Textiles Minister along with three officers from the Directorate of Textiles, Odisha, have visited handlooms clusters, cooperatives, here. On Thursday, she met Telangana’s Handlooms and Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao in Hyderabad. The Minister KTR has felicitated the Odisha Minister. The Hon’ble Minister Rita Sahu has visited the Pochamplly handloom cluster and HWCS Ltd Koyyalgudem of Yadadri District on Wednesday. During the tour the Hon’ble Minister visited Pochampally village and interacted with weavers who are weaving Ikkat in different designs and patterns in silk & cotton.
The Hon’ble Minister has observed the technique of Ikkat weaving which requires true precision and Skill . The Hon’ble Minister has appreciated the weaving style employed by the weavers in Weaving, Dyeing with natural vegetable dyes and designing .The Hon’ble Minister also visited HWCS Ltd Koyyalagudem which is famous for Double Ikkat Bed sheets and furnishing cloth and interacted with Society members . The Hon’ble Minister of Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, Odisha has appreciated Telangana government’s Schemes i.e 40 % yarn Subsidy , Insurance to weavers, Nethannaku Cheyutha which are being implemented.
Further the Hon’ble Minister has appraised that the Odisha Government is implementing handloom Schemes like providing of work sheds and Accessories to weavers of Odisha. Later the Ministers have exchanged views over the implementation of the various schemes in their respective States for uplifting poor Handloom weavers .Further came to an understanding for undertaking the implementation of prestigious state sponsored schemes in each of their States for the benefit of weavers. To sum up , the Hon’ble Minister from Odisha have graciously invited Hon’ble Minister Sri Kalvakunta Taraka Rama Rao to visit the State of Odisha. The Hon’ble Minister of Odisha also visited the famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Temple at Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and appreciated sculptures of the Temple.
