Chandrababu Naidu is making a last ditch attempt to stall the formation of Telangana state. He is camping in New Delhi since last few days and is meeting various leaders to execute his ‘scuttle-T” plan.
He has already met BJP, CPI, CPM and other regional party leaders. But most of the leaders he met are not willing to join hands with Chandrababu. Almost all the leaders at national level know the long history of Telangana statehood demand. They have first-hand knowledge about the six decade long peoples’ movement. So, no leader was willing to obstruct Telangana formation at this stage.
Naidu has also held talks with BJP senior leadership, and has offered for a pre-poll alliance if BJP agrees to stall Telangana bill in Parliament.
During his visit, Naidu has also tried to ensure that YS Jagan is not granted bail in the ongoing disproportionate assets case. But with the CBI court granting bail to YS Jagan yesterday, Naidu faces bleak prospects even in Seemandhra now.
Facing complete rout in both Telangana and Seemandhra, Naidu feels that only a pre-poll tie up with BJP can save his sinking party.
A senior BJP leader confirmed to media that preliminary talks have been completed and the alliance might be announced as soon as October 2nd.
Will this new friendship impact BJP’s stand on Telangana is what needs to be seen
