Munugode bypoll: Komatireddy Venkat Reddy caught in the middle

Blood is thicker than water. This proverb is proved true by Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Looks like the party’s star campaigner has decided to stay away from the bypoll battle for his brother – BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.

This senior leader of Congress, who is always in the race to win the TPCC president post, is now caught in the middle. He is unable to campaign for his party’s candidate nor extend support to his brother. At a juncture where his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy is facing an existential crisis in the face of a looming defeat in the Munugode bypoll, Venkat Reddy is seen nowhere.

And, for Venkat Reddy, flying abroad seemed the only possible solution to escape from this catch-22 situation. Political grapevine has it that the MP will tour Australia with his family during the peak of the campaign and come back only after the election process is completed.

Venkat Reddy, who claims himself to be a staunch loyalist of the Congress is neither doing justice to his party in its tough times nor helping his brother who is left to fend for himself. And, soon it won’t be even a surprise if he switches loyalty to the BJP just like his brother. His actions speak louder than his words.
