Mr Modi’s claim proves false – more Indians give up their citizenship.

Prime Minister Mr Modi before assuming office said once he comes to power, more Americans will stand in a queue to come to India but the reverse is happening now.

According to the statistics released by the Union Home Ministry a total of 10 lakh Indians gave up their Indian citizenship in the last seven years.

A total of 1.41 lakh gave up their citizenship in 2015; 1.44 lakh in 2016, 1.33 lakh in 2017, 1.34 lakh in 2018, 1.44 lakh in 2019, 85,256 in 2020, and 1.63 lakh in 2021.

In the last three years, a total of 3.92 lakh Indians gave up their citizenship and among them, 1.70 lakh took US citizenship, 64,071 preferred Canada, 58,391 settled in Australia, 35,435 preferred UK, and others in Italy, New Zealand, Germany, and other countries.

Mr Modi made tall claims that he would shape the country in an excellent manner but he failed to do so. His unsound policies and anti-people policies resulted in more brain drain. Those who could afford are not preferring to stay in the country owing to mismanagement and misuse of power by the BJP government at Centre.

The BJP is engaged in false propaganda about its achievements, dividing people on the basis of caste and religion and demolishing the democratically elected governments in the states.
