Miss India World Parvathi Omnakuttan, visited the Samsthan Narayanpur mandal in Nalgonda district to meet kids who were crippled by flouride.

The program was organized by a non-profit Healthy Kids Happy Kids and sponsored by Silver Shine Housing pvt. ltd.

Parvathi Omnakuttan spent the whole day with the kids and also gave away some gifts. She promised that she would extend whatever help she could to eradicate the problem.

Lakhs of people in Nalgonda district of Telangana region are experiencing the debilitating effects of excess flouride in water. Even though they live a stone-throw away from Nagarjuna Sagar, one of the largest water reservoirs in the state.

People of this region have been agitating for several decades for clean drinking water under the Nalgonda Jala Sadhana Samithi banner.

Continued apathy of AP state government towards the Nalgonda flouride problem is one of the main issues raised by the ongoing Telangana statehood movement.
