IT & Industries Minister Mr KT Rama Rao demanded that the Central Government set up a powerloom cluster at Sircilla to help weavers.
The Telangana government had taken various initiatives to rescue the distressed weavers in the state. The Telangana government waived loans, provided work and extended subsidies on raw material.
The state government is also setting up a mega Kakatiya Textile Park at Warangal that will provide employment to thousands of people directly and indirectly.
Despite several representations, the Central Government did not extend any help. The Minister wanted the Union Textile Minister to consider setting up a powerloom cluster at Sircilla and contribute to the development of the textile industry in Telangana which will provide employment to the youth of the State.
