Ms Abitha, a fatherless girl who operates an auto-rickshaw to support her family caught the attention of IT Minister Mr K T Rama Rao and immediately swung into action.

Mr KTR showered gifts on her and the girl was speechless at the gesture of the minister.

Mr Rao came to know about her on Twitter that she was studying the second year intermediate and was at odds supporting her family. While her father died some time ago, her mother worked in a small restaurant in Nalgonda.

Moved by her plight and impressed by her confidence, Mr KTR asked the district collector Mr Prashanth Jeevan Patil and expressed his wish to meet her personally.

The girl was invited to Pragathi Bhavan and Mr KTR personally handed her over documents of a double bedroom housing sanctioned to her and bought her a new auto-rickshaw as well. He interacted with the girl and inquired about her well-being, education, and her ambitions in life.

Describing her as a symbol of grit and determination, he promised to help complete her future education.

Later, in his Twitter message, Mr KTR said:  “As promised, met this young & supremely confident girl Sabita. Impressed with her clarity of thoughts & expression. Handed over copies of 2BHK proceeding & an Auto rickshaw as she had asked. Also promised to support her educational pursuits.”

The girl immensely thanked Mr KTR for his kind gesture.
