Minister KTR calls for a week-long celebration of women’s day

Minister KT Rama Rao has directed the officials of all local bodies to organise week-long programmes in connection with the international women’s day on March 8.

He wanted the officials to conduct games and sports events; felicitate women who have contributed to the society in various fields, arrange exhibitions of the artefacts prepared by women groups, conduct special health camps, and distribute cheques under low-interest rates and Abhaya Hastham schemes.

Mr. Rama Rao wanted the officials to invite the women occupying good positions such as collectors, judges, and police officers as chief guests to the events to inspire other women to excel in their lives.
All those women working in the municipal department and local bodies from sanitation workers to officers should be involved in the events, he said.

Municipal Administration minister will be visiting Thorrur in Mahabubabad district on March 8 where he will distribute cheques to the women groups and later address a meeting to be attended by about 20,000 women.

Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao inspected the arrangements being made for the helipad, parking, drinking water, and other facilities at the proposed venue. Mr Rama Rao will also be taking part in the women’s day celebrations being organised by the Kakatiya University in Hanamkonda district.
