From democracy to autocracy, the BJP’s rule proves unbearable

Strongly condemning the arrest of Delhi deputy chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, leaders of various opposition parties question Prime Minister Modi. Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and eight others wrote an open letter to Modi his government and his party resorting to vindictive politics.

The Central government is trying to terrify the leaders of Opposition parties which were strong and enjoyed great public patronage in their respective states. By conspiring to topple the democratically elected governments, the BJP has proved itself to be imperialistic which does not fit in a democratic setup.

The BJP government unleashed the central government agencies like Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation against the leaders of opposition parties suddenly dropped the charges or ignored the cases once they joined the BJP

Mr KCR sought to know how come the same accused become sinless after joining the BJP. Where is the investigation into Rs. 78,000 crore looted in the country? The signatories to the letter – West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Punjab chief minister Bhagawant Singh Mann, Delhi chief minister Aravind Kejriwal, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, and others warned Prime Minister Modi that the country is going from bad to worse and it is high time BJP restrained from playing dirty politics.

The BJP is misusing the office of the Governor trying to irk the governments of regional parties in the states. Most of the Governors are being dictated by the BJP and they are acting like the party functionaries rather as holders of constitutional positions.

The BJP has tested the patience of the people who are no more interested in its continuation in power. The opposition parties will ensure defeat of the BJP in the forthcoming elections thoroughly exposing its misdeeds and misgovernance, the leaders said.
