The Municipal Administration minister Mr K T Rama Rao said the state government will take up metro rail expansion connecting LB Nagar and Hayathnagar after the ensuing general elections.
In the second phase of the project underway, the five kilometre stretch between Nagole to LB Nagar would be covered.
The minister was taking part in inauguration of development works worth Rs 55 crore in LB Nagar constituency. A crematorium for pet animals, box drain between Nagole and Bandlaguda, Link road between Fataullahguda to Peerjadiguda and graveyard Muktighat meant for people of all the three religions – Hindu, Muslim and Christians.
The Mukhtighat is first of its kind the country that meant for all the three religions and is constructed with all the modern facilities, landscaping, garden, and to enable the relatives conduct post last rites rituals as well.
Addressing the people on the occasion, Minister Mr KTR said the development and welfare are progressing at the same plane and pace in Telangana state.
The per capita income that was Rs 1.24 lakh in 2014 has increased to Rs 2.78 lakh now which is more than the national average thus indicating the steady progress of the state. The GSDP that was 5.6 lakh crore when Telangana was formed now stands at Rs 11.55 lakh crores. It was achieved with a magic wand overnight. It was all possible by the visionary chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who studied the needs of people, planned and delivered them one by one.
When the central government announced awards for best Panchayats in the country, of 20 declared as best, 19 were from Telangana. Under Swacha Sarvekshan, the state got 26 awards from the Centre.
Mr KTR said that to prevent inundation of residential areas during floods, SNDP works were undertaken with Rs 985 crore. The works will be completed by April next.
The first phase of nala works of Hussainsagar surplus nala and Bulkapurnala will be completed by April and later the second phase of works will be undertaken.
The minister said the LB chowrastha witnessed massive development and there was marked improvement from 2014 to 2022.
