After the resounding success of US trip, everyone who mattered knew how tech-savvy IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao is! On Wednesday, the other side of him – the human side – was revealed when a Telangana activist, who lost both his legs and left hand when he had hit a moving train head-on protesting the delay in the formation of the State, met him at the Secretariat. Moved by the sorry plight of Pidamarthi Nagaraju, Mr. Rama Rao assured all the help from the government handing over Rs one lakh as the immediate relief.
Mr. Rama Rao saw Nagaraju at D-Block while returning to the Secretariat after launching Amazon fulfillment centre at Kottur in Mahabubnagar district. Upon knowing his hardships, he rang up Miryalaguda Market Committee secretary and asked him to accommodate Nagaraju in a clerical post keeping his disability in mind.
An emotional Nagaraju thanked Mr Rama Rao for his kind gesture and said he would be grateful to him forever. Nagaraju lauded Minister’s prompt response to the pitiable condition of Telangana activists like him who made supreme sacrifices for the Statehood. IT Minister on his part said that the government will help activists like Nagaraju even in the future.
