Komatireddy Arrested, Shifted to NIMS

In a pre-dawn swoop, the state police arrested the fasting Telangana leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and shifted him to NIMS in Hyderabad. High drama prevailed from yesterday midnight at the deeksha site.

A team of government doctors, visited Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s deeksha and after conducting diagnostic tests, declared that he needs to be shifted to a hospital immediately. Following the directive of the medical team, the district police and CRPF personnel cordoned off the clock-tower circle where Venkat Reddy was fasting.

At around 4 AM, dozens of policemen descended on Venkat Reddy’s deeksha shibiram and amidst severe resistance from scores of Telangana activists, they shifted him to a 108 ambulance and took him away.

To ensure that the ambulance was not stopped by Telangana activists anywhere, the police have kept 4 ambulances and have used alternative routes.

It is reported that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is refusing to take food and is continuing his deeksha in NIMS.
